Four Arrested, Over 300 Stolen Smartphones Seized in Berhampur Raid

Berhampur: In a major crackdown on mobile theft, Bada Bazar police on Saturday arrested four persons and seized more than 300 smartphones from a house in Srikhetra Vihar.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the residence and recovered the phones stored inside a suitcase. Berhampur Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M said the accused claimed they had purchased the phones with plans to sell them in other states, but the authenticity of this statement is under verification.

A case has been registered, and the accused will be forwarded to court soon.

Police said the investigation is continuing to establish whether the seized phones were stolen locally or sourced from other regions.
