Former Korei MLA Sanchita Mohanty Dies After Prolonged Illness

Bhubaneswar: Former Korei MLA Sanchita Mohanty passed away on Friday at her residence in Bhubaneswar after a prolonged illness. She was undergoing treatment for some time and had recently been admitted to a hospital, but her condition did not improve, reports said.

Mohanty was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2004 from the Korei constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. She represented the constituency for a full term from 2004 to 2009.

Following the news of her demise, leaders from across political parties and residents of Korei constituency expressed deep grief. Many remembered her as a committed public representative who worked tirelessly for local development and the welfare of the people during her tenure.

Her death marks the end of a significant chapter in the political life of the Korei constituency, with condolences pouring in from various quarters.
