Five Killed, Several Injured in Bus-Truck Collision in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: In a tragic road accident, at least five persons lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when a private bus named Lingaraj, traveling from Rourkela to Koida, collided head-on with a truck.

The mishap took place on National Highway-520 in Koida block under K Balang police station limits of Sundargarh district on Thursday.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the bus badly mangled and causing multiple critical injuries among passengers. Rescue operations were immediately launched after emergency services were alerted.

Police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and began pulling out passengers trapped inside the bus. Using cutters, rescuers broke through the vehicle’s windows to save those stuck inside.

Till the latest reports, rescue and relief operations were still underway.
