Five Held, 15 Stolen Bikes Recovered in Bhadrak Theft Crackdown

Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown on motorcycle thefts, Bhadrak Town police have arrested five persons, including a minor, for their alleged involvement in multiple bike theft cases in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

According to police, the case came to light on March 2 when a man visiting a local hospital with his wife found his motorcycle missing after parking it outside the premises. He promptly lodged a virtual complaint, triggering an investigation.

During the probe, police apprehended the alleged mastermind of the gang, identified as Abinash Barik. His interrogation led to the identification and arrest of three associates along with a minor linked to the thefts.

Police have recovered 15 stolen motorcycles from the accused. Authorities are currently verifying the vehicles with their registered owners, after which the bikes will be returned.

The accused are scheduled to be produced before a court, while further investigation into the case is ongoing.
