First lot of wood for Puri Rath Yatra 2026 Chariot construction sent from Daspalla forest range

Daspalla: The first lot of wood for the upcoming Puri Rath Yatra 2026 Chariot construction has been sent from Daspalla forest range on Monday.

The wood logs have been sent from the Takra forest section under Daspalla Forest Range in Nayagarh district of Odisha, to Puri.

The trucks loaded with the holy wood for the chariots was sent after worship and Sankirtan by the Forest Department and Mitukuli VSS committee.

A total of 48 pieces of Asan and Dhaura wood have been sent in 2 trucks. One of the truck is carrying 25 pieces of wood, while the other is carrying 23 pieces of wood.

Forest officers, tribal leaders and many villagers including women were present in the worship.
