Fire Guts 9 Houses in Bhadrak Village, 7 Families Homeless

Bhadrak: A devastating fire broke out late last night at Chhatrapada village under Narendrapur panchayat in Tihidi block of Bhadrak district, causing extensive damage and leaving several families homeless.

According to reports, at least nine houses were reduced to ashes in the blaze. The fire also claimed the lives of 10 cows and 10 goats, while around 200 bags of paddy, household furniture, and other valuables were completely destroyed. As a result, seven families have been rendered homeless, triggering panic and distress in the village.

Villagers immediately alerted the fire services, but by the time fire brigade personnel reached the spot, most of the houses had already been gutted. Firefighters later managed to bring the flames under control and prevent further spread.

Local administrative officials and elected representatives visited the affected area to assess the extent of the damage. While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an electrical short circuit is suspected to have triggered the incident.

The affected families, along with local residents, have demanded immediate government assistance, including relief materials, food supplies, and temporary shelter. Authorities have assured necessary support after completion of the damage assessment.
