Fiji set for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier

Fiji prepares to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 East-Asia Pacific (EAP) Qualifier, beginning Tuesday, 9 September at Albert Park, Suva.

Eight nations – Fiji, Cook Islands, Indonesia, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, and Vanuatu – will compete in the region’s largest-ever women’s cricket event, with one coveted spot at the Global Qualifier for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 up for grabs.

The event will be especially significant for the Philippines, whose women’s team will make its debut at an ICC event.

The tournament kicks off with Fiji vs Cook Islands and Japan vs Papua New Guinea on 9 September, with matches played across two grounds at Albert Park.

A final on 15 September will determine which team advances to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, to be held in Nepal in January 2026.

Vanuatu was the last team to attend a Global Qualifier in 2024, picking up a historic victory over Zimbabwe during that event.
