False Ceiling Collapse Injures Patient at SCB Medical College & Hospital

Cuttack: Panic gripped SCB Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday after a portion of the false ceiling collapsed inside the old Medicine ward, leaving one patient injured.

According to hospital sources, the incident occurred on the first floor of the old Medicine ward when a section of the false ceiling suddenly gave way and fell from the roof. The debris struck a patient on the head, causing injuries.

Hospital staff immediately rushed to the spot and provided first aid to the injured patient. He was later shifted to another ward for further treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable.

Following the incident, hospital authorities took swift action to ensure the safety of other patients and temporarily relocated those admitted in the affected ward.

The exact cause of the ceiling collapse is yet to be ascertained. Hospital officials said further details will emerge after a technical assessment of the structure.
