Excise Minister Inaugurates OSBCL Depot in Chhatrapur

Bhubaneswar: Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Monday inaugurated the Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited (OSBCL) depot and office at Chhatrapur through virtual mode from the Excise Department Conference Hall at Lok Seva Bhawan here.

The newly constructed facility, developed at a cost of Rs 17.47 crore on a three-acre site, has a storage capacity of 28,000 square feet. The depot is expected to improve the supply chain and ensure smoother distribution to around 190 retail traders operating across the excise districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Berhampur.

Addressing the gathering, Harichandan said the state government remains committed to strengthening the excise system and checking the illegal liquor trade. He added that the Chhatrapur depot would facilitate organised distribution, efficient parking management and help prevent revenue loss to the state.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary of the Excise Department Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, Excise Commissioner P. Anvesha Reddy and OSBCL Managing Director Deben Kumar Pradhan. Chhatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak and Ganjam District Collector Keerthi Vasan V were also present and addressed the gathering.
