Ex-Revenue Inspector Sentenced to Three Years in Bribery Case

Bhubaneswar: Former Revenue Inspector Gajendra Digal has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹20,000 in a bribery case, marking another conviction in his record.

According to the Vigilance Department, Digal, who was dismissed from service in 2021, was found guilty of demanding and accepting ₹15,000 from a complainant in exchange for demarcating his land.

This is Digal’s second conviction on corruption charges. He was earlier sentenced to two years of imprisonment and fined ₹10,000 in another bribery case in 2021.

The Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani, delivered the verdict following a detailed trial. Officials said Digal’s repeated offenses underscore the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in public service.
