Eminent cardiologist joins sum ultimate medicare

Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar, July 20 : Eminent cardiologist Dr. Sarat Kumar Sahoo has joined the SUM Ultimate Medicare, the super-speciality hospital being set up here by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) as Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
Dr. Sahoo, who did his M.D. (Medicine) from MKCG Medical College Hospital, Berhampur and D.M. (Cardiology) from the SCB Medical College, Cuttack, has rich experience in all kinds of cardiological interventions including Coronary Angiography, complex and primary Angioplasty, Pace Maker Implantation, Congenital and Structural Interventions, Peripheral and Corotid Interventions, Baloon Valvuloplasty, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy and Automated Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator.
Having worked with the Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad for 11 years, Dr. Sahoo has nearly 15,000 Angiograms and 7,500 Angioplasty including 3,000 Primary Angioplasty to his credit. He is known for adult congenital and structural interventions and has done over 400 Valvotomy, 200 device closures and more than 300 Peripheral Angioplasty including nearly 100 Corotid Angioplasty.
Besides, he has done over 500 Pacemaker Implantations including ICD (Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator) and CRT (Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy) Implantation.
Dr. Sahoo attended CSI Frankfurt, one of the leading conferences on congenital, structural and valvar percutaneous heart interventions, in the last week of June and presented a paper on three complex congenital and structural intervention cases which was highly appreciated by cardiologists from across the world.
He also received the ‘Best Case Presentation Award’ for complex Angioplasty case in the 24th Cardiovascular Summit (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Asia Pacific-2019) held at Seoul, South Korea in April this year.
