Elephant tramples to death in Angul

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Angul, April 19: Rogues on Thursday night trampled five persons to death in Talcher area after straying into human habitation crossing the Brahmani river.

In Sandha village, four persons, including three of a family were trampled to death while sleeping on their verandah in the village.

Among the four persons were two girls and a woman.

The elephants then killed a 70-year-old man Bhrama Samal in Santhapada village while she was attending nature’s call.

Forest officials reached the spot and were making efforts to shoo away the elephants.
