Elderly rape victim dies in VSSIMSAR 

Surjit Kumar Dhal, SAMBALPUR, August 5: An elderly woman who was admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research in a critical condition after rape on July 21 died on Sunday.

“Her condition was so critical that all improved treatment inside ICU and one major surgery became fruitless,” informed VSSIMSAR authorities.

The woman (67), who lived alone in a village under Mahulpali PS of Kuchinda Sub-division was raped by one Jagdish Badi (42) of the same village after consuming liquor together.

 When the woman protested Badi’s act, he had inserted a stick in the private part of the woman leading to profuse bleeding.

Notably, Police has now added Sec 302 of IPC to the FIR.
