Ekamra Parikrama to Finish by June 2026

Bhubaneswar: Major components of the Ekamra Parikrama Project will be completed before Shivratri 2026, while the full project is expected to be finished by June next year, Odisha Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced on Thursday.

Reviewing the project’s progress, the minister instructed the Khordha district administration and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to settle all pending land acquisition issues at the earliest. He noted that delays occurred after a contractor withdrew in 2023, prompting the government to break the remaining work into smaller packages with defined timelines.

Key infrastructure around the Lingaraj Temple — including access roads, parking facilities, and related amenities — is scheduled for completion ahead of Shivratri in March. The state government is also in discussions with the Archaeological Survey of India regarding the beautification of Bindu Sagar and the restoration of Devipadahara and Papanasini ponds.

To ensure timely execution, weekly progress reports will be prepared and reviewed by the department.
