ECoR Halts Cuttack-Paradeep Train Services Till Aug 20 for Safety Upgrades

The East Coast Railway has announced the temporary cancellation of key passenger trains between Cuttack and Paradeep from August 16 to August 20, 2025, to facilitate critical safety and infrastructure upgrades.

The works, part of Pre-Non Interlocking (Pre-NI) and Non Interlocking (NI) activities at Rahama, Badabandha, and Paradeep stations in the Khurda Road Division, aim to introduce an advanced Auto-Signalling system in the Rahama–Paradeep section and add a new loop line at Badabandha station.

These upgrades are expected to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, and boost train handling capacity.

The affected trains include:

  • Train No. 68435/68436: Cuttack-Paradeep-Cuttack MEMU passenger train
  • Train No. 58405/58406: Cuttack-Paradeep-Cuttack passenger train

These cancellations impact travel in both directions, and passengers are urged to plan alternative travel arrangements during this period.

The East Coast Railway has emphasised that these measures are essential to ensure long-term safety and reliability for commuters.

Regular services are expected to resume on August 21, 2025, following the completion of the works.
