DRDO Chandipur to Host High-Level Security Review Amid National Security Concerns

Bhubaneswar: Amid heightened national security concerns, a high-level meeting has been scheduled today to review the security preparedness at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) installations in Chandipur, Balasore district.

The meeting, chaired by Eastern Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Satyajit Naik, is slated for 2 PM and will focus on strengthening the security framework of two key defence establishments — the Integrated Test Range (ITR) and the Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE).

Senior officials from district police, coastal security, and defence intelligence are expected to participate in the deliberations. The agenda includes assessing current security protocols, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and enhancing overall preparedness to safeguard these high-value defence assets.

Sources indicate that the meeting may take place either at the DRDO office or within the secured PXE campus, depending on operational logistics.

This regional security review comes on the heels of a late-night meeting convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi with top officials from India’s border guarding forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF). The high-level discussions reportedly focused on the country’s preparedness following precision strikes carried out by India on strategic targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Shah is believed to have reviewed the current status of India’s international borders and issued directives to enhance surveillance and counter-threat strategies, underscoring the government’s proactive stance on national defence.

The Chandipur meeting aligns with the broader national effort to reinforce security at sensitive installations amid evolving geopolitical tensions.
