Discrimination Against Oppressed

Jaleswar: (Ajit Kumar Sahu) In the three-tier panchayat elections, the reserved system has been discriminated against, oppressing the oppressed and Scheduled Castes. This is the view of Bishnupur Panchayat in Baliapal block of Baleshwar district.
According to the 2011 census, the Bishnupur panchayat has a population of 37.8 per cent of SC community. Since then, in the 2009, 2012, and 2017 panchayat elections, the posts were reserved for the backward and shedule caste respectively. According to the law, the sarpanch of this panchayat should be reserved for the Scheduled Castes in the current elections.
However, in the list released by the district administration on the 8th, the seat was reserved for Scheduled Castes for the sarpanch, while the final list released on the 26th was changed. Some of the influential politicians, have changed the reservation list of the district administration by resorting to evil, malicious intent and conspiracy to oust Scheduled Caste people from the post of sarpanch.
They have complained this matter to the BDO, DM and State Election Commissoner. Their forum has warned that if justice is not done, it will boycott the polls.
