Dipika Kakar faces hair loss during cancer recovery

Television actress Dipika Kakar, who is recovering from stage two liver cancer has shared an emotional update with her fans through her recent Youtube vlog.

While her latest health reports, including blood tests are normal, Dipika revealed that she has been experiencing severe hair loss. This hair fall is a side effect of the targeted oral therapy she has been prescribed after her surgery.

While the treatment is meant to reduce the chances of cancer returning, it comes with challenges like weakness, ulcers and now hair loss, which has been emotionally hard for her to cope with.

Adding to the family’s struggles, Dipika’s husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim has also been unwell in recent days. Despite being sick himself, he has assured fans that Dipika is slowly getting better.

Their son, Ruhaan, brought a lighter moment to the video by playfully pretending to be a doctor and giving mock injections to his father, spreading smiles during tough times.

Dipika’s health concerns first came to light earlier this year when she began experiencing severe stomach pain. After undergoing medical tests, a CT scan revealed a malignant tumour in the left lobe of her liver.

The tumour which was reportedly about the size of a tennis ball was found to be aggressive. In June, she underwent a 14-hour-long surgery that successfully removed the tumour.

Following the operation, doctors declared her tumour-free. However, because of the tumour’s aggressive nature, they recommended targeted oral therapy.

Dipika was last seen on Celebrity MasterChef but she had to quit the show midway after injuring her arm.
