Deputy CM Pravati Parida to Tour 5 Odisha Districts from August 8

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida is set to embark on a five-day visit to five important districts—Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Sonepur—beginning August 8. The tour aims to assess the progress of key development initiatives, particularly those focused on women and children.

A major highlight of the tour will be her visit to the Kotia region in Koraput district, a strategically important area, where she will review development works and inspect the implementation of the state’s flagship Subhadra Yojana.

On August 9, which coincides with Rakhi Purnima, the Deputy Chief Minister will take part in a ceremonial distribution of the third installment under the Subhadra Yojana in Koraput. The event is expected to see large participation from women beneficiaries and Mission Shakti members.

During the tour, Parida will conduct in-depth reviews of projects under the Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism departments. She is also scheduled to meet with local officials and stakeholders to assess the status of ongoing and upcoming development works across the five districts.

The visit underscores the state government’s renewed focus on empowering women at the grassroots level and boosting tourism-led growth, especially in the western and southern regions of Odisha.
