Depression Over South Odisha Likely to Weaken, Says IMD

Bhubaneswar: A depression over south coastal Odisha moved west-northwestwards at a speed of 11 kmph in the past six hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.

As of 8:30 am, the system was centred over south interior Odisha near latitude 19.8°N and longitude 84.0°E. It lay around 50 km north-northwest of Daringabadi, 90 km east of Bhawanipatna, and 90 km southeast of Titlagarh.

The IMD forecast suggests the depression will continue moving west-northwest across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh. It is likely to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 12 hours.
