Dangiriguda Hill in Nabarangpur to Be Developed as Major Tourist Destination

Bhubaneswar: Dangiriguda Hill in Umerkote, Nabarangpur district, is set for a major facelift, with the Odisha government planning to transform it into a prominent tourist attraction. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced the development on Sunday, highlighting the project’s potential to boost local tourism and create employment opportunities.
Taking to social media platform X, Minister Gond said the long-neglected hill will soon be revitalized with the creation of green gardens, modern tourist facilities, and entertainment zones. “The time is nearing to realize the dream of turning Dangiriguda into a vibrant tourist destination. Construction work is progressing rapidly,” he stated.
During his visit to the site earlier in the day, Gond reviewed the ongoing work and expressed satisfaction with the progress. “The outline of the hill is becoming more beautiful with each passing day. The development of a smart park, small pavilions, coffee houses, and other attractions will not only enhance the hill’s beauty but also bring socio-economic growth to Umerkote,” he added.
Officials said the project aims to create a refreshing recreational space for visitors while promoting sustainable tourism in the region.
