Cuttack Youth Arrested for Creating AI-Generated Objectionable Videos

Cuttack: The Cyber Police Station of Cuttack has arrested a youth for allegedly creating and circulating objectionable AI-generated videos targeting political leaders, celebrities, and other public figures.
The accused has been identified as Bishwa Ballabh Nanda, a resident of the Salipur area. According to police, Nanda used artificial intelligence tools to produce morphed and misleading videos, which he later shared on various social media platforms. His motive, investigators said, was to gain online views and earn money through digital engagement.
During the raid, police seized a mobile phone and several screenshots related to the creation and circulation of the objectionable content. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the full scope of his online activities and identify any possible accomplices.
Addressing the media, Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo urged citizens to exercise caution while using social media. He advised people not to accept friend requests from strangers and to avoid sharing personal information, photos, or videos online.
The Commissionerate Police also reminded the public that any cybercrime incidents can be reported through the Cyber Helpline Number 1930 for prompt assistance.
