Cuttack: Three Dead, Two Injured in SUV–Truck Crash on NH-16

Cuttack: In a tragic road accident early Monday morning, three people lost their lives and two others were critically injured after a Bolero SUV rammed into a container truck at Rajakana Square under Tangi police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The incident took place around 3.50 am when the Bolero, travelling from Keonjhar towards Bhubaneswar and carrying mine labourers, suddenly crossed the road divider on National Highway-16. The SUV collided head-on with a container truck coming from Bhubaneswar and heading towards Chandikhole.

The impact of the collision was severe, killing three occupants of the SUV on the spot.

Tangi police rushed to the location, rescued the two injured passengers, and shifted them to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for urgent treatment.

The container truck sustained minimal damage, and both its driver and helper escaped unharmed.

Police have seized both vehicles and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
