Cuttack Police Gear Up for Offline Ticket Sales Ahead of India–South Africa T20 Match

Cuttack: With offline ticket sales for the India vs South Africa T20 match scheduled to begin on December 5, the Commissionerate Police on Thursday conducted a comprehensive briefing at Barabati Stadium to finalise security arrangements and streamline crowd management.
Officials said a new layout has been put in place to ensure smooth movement of spectators near the ticket counters. Iron barricades have been arranged in a serpentine pattern to regulate long queues and prevent any disorder during peak hours.

Ticket counters for the general public will open at 9 am on December 5, while spectators will be allowed to queue from 6 am onwards. Authorities have strictly prohibited overnight waiting or attempts to form lines before dawn, and police personnel will enforce these restrictions across all counters.
To maintain steady movement, separate entry and exit routes have been designated near the Cricket Academy. The measures aim to avoid congestion and ensure that spectators can collect their tickets without difficulty.
In view of potential black-marketing during ticket sales, Commissionerate Police will deploy personnel in plain clothes around the stadium. CCTV surveillance has been enhanced to monitor crowd behaviour and enable quick action in case of violations. Officials warned that any attempt at illegal resale or obstruction during ticket distribution will invite immediate police action.
Barabati Stadium will host the India vs South Africa T20 match on December 9.
