Crime Scene Recreated in Pitabash Panda Murder Case; Key Details Emerge

Berhampur: In a major breakthrough in the Pitabash Panda murder case, police on Wednesday recreated the crime scene with the accused to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the killing. The exercise, carried out at the exact spot where the crime occurred, has reportedly helped investigators gather several crucial insights into how the murder was executed.

According to police sources, accused Chintu Pradhan and Kurupatti Bhuyan were taken to the scene, where they demonstrated how the attack unfolded. The duo showed investigators the motorcycle they used, the route they followed, and the precise manner in which the murder was carried out — starting with a polite greeting of “namaskar” before shooting Pitabash Panda from close range.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was a premeditated, contract-based killing. Police have reportedly gathered information about who arranged the deal and the amount paid for it during initial interrogations.

Earlier, on Tuesday, police arrested Uma Bisoyi and Kurupatti Bhuyan and produced them before the court. While police had sought a seven-day remand, the court granted two days of custody, during which the probe intensified. So far, six accused — Uma Bisoyi, Kurupatti Bhuyan, Madan Dalei, Malay Bisoyi, Jogendra Rout, and Chintu Pradhan — have been taken into remand for interrogation.

Public Prosecutor confirmed that police are conducting sustained interrogation to extract further information and identify the masterminds behind the plot.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has expressed cautious optimism, saying they are hopeful of justice as the investigation continues to reveal important leads.

Investigators have also discovered that Pitabash Panda received two threatening phone calls shortly before his murder — a fact his brother claims was reported to the police earlier. With this revelation, the scope of the probe has widened, and more suspects are being detained and questioned as police work to uncover the full conspiracy behind the killing.
