CP Mohanty Appointed as Southern Command Chief

(Adarsh Rout) Bhubaneswar: Senior Odia Army officer, Lt. Gen. Chandi Prasad Mohanty was appointed as the commander of the Southern Army Command.

Chandi Prasad will take charge from Lt Gen SK Saini tomorrow. Saini will proceed to take charge as the new vice chief of the Army. At present, Chandi Prasad is serving as the General Officer Commanding of Uttar Bharat side.

Chandi Prasad has operational experience along the borders with Pakistan and China. He has also been active in counter-insurgency operations in Assam. He had led a multinational UN brigade in Congo.
