Covid cases on rise in Odisha as 4 more identified

Bhubaneswar: The number of Covid cases have risen in Odisha. There are 11 active Covid patients in Odisha. The death of the first Covid positive have also occurred, however the Health department has remain tight-lipped.
The number of Covid cases in the state was recorded at 7. The tally has risen to 11 on June 1, as four more Covid cases were identified today.
The Health department of Odisha has said that the new variant is a mild variant and there is nothing to worry about it. The Health Secretary Aswathy S informed the same on Saturday. She said, “We have control over the situation at the moment. The variant which is spreading now is a mild one, thus people need not panic even though Covid cases in Odisha are being detected.”
The victim, who had tested positive for Covid-19 recently, also reportedly had several multiple comorbidities, which is expected to have worsened his health condition significantly leading to his death. However, the State Health Department is yet to confirm about his death.
There are currently 3395 Covid-19 cases in India and as many as four deaths in all with one new death in Delhi.
