Coolie distributor slams fake box office claims and unnecessary noise

Rajinikanth’s Coolie is creating a buzz in the box office with it’s huge success. But its international distributor, Hamsini Entertainment has warns against “fake box office numbers” and “unnecessary noise” over global revenue. Few websites on social media say the film has reached Rs 500 crore worldwide and the distributor argues that it is completely false.
In a public statement, the producers and Hamsini Entertainment said that they and the producers will come out with official updates of collections. “Any other numbers floating around online are not reliable and should not be regarded as facts,” they underlined. Giving out false figures or hyperbolic comparisons is not only incorrect but is also damaging to the reputation of the film and its investors. Legal action will be taken against persons propagating fake numbers, including defamation claims and financial losses.
Coolie has been doing great business all over the world, with a nationwide collection of Rs 264.25 crore in India and over $6.8 million in North America, the highest grossing Tamil movie in the territory. The film, which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, has an ensemble cast of actors including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan. With music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj, Coolie has been a highly anticipated release.
Interestingly, Coolie marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth and is a standalone film, not part of the director’s Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Despite its strong opening, the film’s collections dipped after the festive weekend but saw a revival in its second weekend.
