Congress choses veteran Panchanan for Cuttack Lok Sabha, Prithviballav for Begunia Assembly seats

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Bhubaneswar, April 3: The All India Congress Committee on Tuesday reposed faith in veteran Panchanan Kanungo to be fielded in Cuttack Lok Sabha constituency.

          Kanungo will face BJD veteran Bhartruhari Mahtab and BJP’s Prakash Mishra who recently joined the party.

          Cuttack constituency is prestigious for all the parties and all the major parties are keen to win the poll.

          Similarly, the Congress is fielding Manas Jena from Jajpur Lok Sabha constituency.

          The AICC also nominated Prithviballav Patnaik for Begunia seat, Manas Das Patnaik for Balasore Assembly segment, Smrutirekha Pahi from Dharmashala, Santosh Kumar Nanda from Jajpur Assembly segment, Trinath Behera from Hindol, Bhawanishankar Mohapatra from Kamakshyanagar segment, Bobby Mohanty from Badamba, Arindam ( Bapi) Serkhel for Paradip and Yudhistir Samantray in Pipili for the 2019 election.

          Notably, Prithviballav is the son of former Odisha chief Minister JB Patnaik.
