Complaint Filed Against Influencer Shubhankar Mishra Over Puri Temple Remarks

Puri: A fresh controversy has erupted after a police complaint was lodged against social media influencer Shubhankar Mishra for his remarks about unmarried couples visiting the Jagannath Temple. The complaint, filed by temple servitor Gourahari Pradhan at the Singhadwar Police Station, seeks Mishra’s immediate arrest.

Pradhan alleged that Mishra is spreading misleading and inappropriate messages about Srimandir. “His comments may create unnecessary confusion among devotees of Lord Jagannath,” the servitor stated in his complaint.

The controversy stems from a recent video posted on Mishra’s YouTube channel, where he claimed that unmarried couples visiting the shrine risk their relationships falling apart, suggesting the temple carries a curse connected to Radha Rani. He further narrated a story alleging that Radha Rani was once denied entry into the shrine by servitors, which led to a supposed curse affecting unmarried couples.

The video quickly went viral, drawing strong criticism from devotees and servitors, who labelled the claims as baseless, misleading, and disrespectful to the traditions of Srimandir. Many have demanded action against the influencer for spreading misinformation about the revered temple.

With public outrage mounting, the controversy continues to intensify as police examine the complaint and consider further steps.
