Commissionerate police begins checking and blocking in Cuttack

Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police have taken a strict stance to maintain the law and order during the festive season. Police have started checking and blocking in Cuttack city in view of Parvan season.

Checking at every street of Cuttack by the urban police has been started at various places since last night.

“ACPs and police officers of various zones are involved in the naka checking. Checking is being done to keep an eye on illegal drug trafficking and criminal activities in view of Parvan,” Commissionerate Police Rishikesh Khilari informed.

Similarly, for now, the Commissionerate Police has started checking and blocking in 9 main areas and entry and exit roads of the city. It is reported that this process will continue at more than 20 points in the coming days.

The police have activated patrolling teams. While a list of more than 350 non-bailable arrest warrants has been prepared, the Commissionerate Police has executed NBWs on about 160 of them. The Commissionerate Police will keep a strict watch on sensitive areas of the city during Parvan, the DCP of Cuttack has informed. The police are keeping an eye on criminals returning to prison.
