Cold Wave Returns, Temperatures Drop Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite, cold wave conditions have returned to Odisha, leading to a sharp fall in temperatures across several parts of the state, including coastal areas.

With the clearing of cloud cover, the mercury dropped significantly overnight. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4°C, registering a decline of 2.2°C. Keonjhar witnessed a sharper fall, with the temperature dipping to 11.6°C, down by 3.4°C.

The state capital Bhubaneswar also experienced a notable drop, recording a minimum temperature of 13.4°C, which is 3.6°C lower than the previous day. Among coastal regions, Balasore recorded 14°C at 5.30 am, a fall of 3°C, while Chandbali registered 14.8°C, down by 1.4°C. Paradip reported a minimum temperature of 15°C, a decrease of 1.6°C.

The IMD has indicated that cold wave conditions are likely to persist, prompting authorities to advise residents to take necessary precautions and keep themselves warm as the chill continues to grip the state.
