CM Mohan Majhi Extends Women’s Day Greetings, Highlights Women Empowerment Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm greetings and congratulations to women across the state, describing them as the true powerhouse of society.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that the strength and contribution of women form the foundation of societal progress. Reaffirming his government’s commitment, Majhi stated that women’s empowerment and overall development remain a top priority for the state government.

Highlighting various initiatives, he said the Subhadra Yojana is helping thousands of women achieve financial independence, while the Lakshapati Didi campaign is encouraging women to become entrepreneurs and self-reliant. He noted that Odisha has achieved notable success in creating many “Lakhpati Didis” under the initiative.
Majhi also emphasized steps taken to secure a brighter future for girls. The Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal scheme aims to expand access to education, while the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana focuses on strengthening social security for women.
The Chief Minister further said that maternal and child health continues to receive priority through the Mamata scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. He also highlighted initiatives such as Subhadra Wellness Centre and Subhadra Shakti Sambad, which aim to promote women’s health awareness and well-being.
“Our efforts aim to ensure respect, equal opportunities and progress for women in every sphere—from health to economic independence,” Majhi said.
He also called upon people to celebrate the courage and achievements of women and work together to build a more equal and inclusive society.
