CM Mohan Charan Majhi to Attend Investors’ Meet in Kolkata on Three-Day West Bengal Tour

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will embark on a three-day visit to West Bengal starting tomorrow to participate in an Investors’ Meet in Kolkata, as part of Odisha’s sustained efforts to attract investments and accelerate industrial growth.
The Chief Minister will be accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials of the Industries Department during the tour. The visit will include investor interactions and roadshows aimed at promoting Odisha as a preferred investment destination and generating employment opportunities.

This will be CM Majhi’s second such outreach initiative, following the successful Odisha Investors’ Meet held in Hyderabad last year. On December 19, the Chief Minister attended the Hyderabad meet, where Odisha received investment intentions worth approximately ₹67,000 crore, with an estimated employment potential of nearly 56,000 jobs over two days.
During the Hyderabad event, 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, involving an investment potential of ₹27,650 crore and the creation of about 15,905 jobs. In addition, investment proposals worth ₹39,131 crore were received, which could generate over 40,000 employment opportunities, according to a state government statement.
The Hyderabad roadshow featured 38 high-level one-on-one meetings and two sector-specific roundtables focusing on Pharmaceuticals and Aerospace & Defence. The Pharmaceuticals roundtable saw participation from CXO-level representatives of eight leading companies, while the Aerospace & Defence session engaged 27 firms, highlighting Odisha’s growing strategic relevance in these sectors.
More than 500 industry leaders, business associations, and institutional stakeholders participated in the Hyderabad meet. During the event, the Chief Minister outlined his vision for Samruddha Odisha by 2036, stressing ease of doing business, real-time project monitoring through the Chief Minister’s Dashboard, and enhanced powers for District Collectors to ensure timely execution of industrial projects.
