CM Majhi Disburses ₹1,041 Cr to Farmers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday said that the state government’s farmer-centric initiatives have significantly enhanced rural incomes, with registered farmers witnessing an annual rise of at least ₹58,000 through combined benefits of multiple schemes.
Speaking at a state-level Nuakhai celebration organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment at Krushi Shiksha Sadan, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister disbursed the third installment of the CM Kisan Scheme for the Rabi season 2025-26. An amount of ₹1,041.29 crore was directly credited to the bank accounts of over 51.54 lakh small and marginal farmers, landless families, ST communities and urban farmers through DBT.
Majhi informed that the CM Kisan Yojana alone has increased farmers’ annual income by ₹38,000, while an additional ₹10,000 each from the Subhadra Yojana and PM-CM Kisan schemes has raised incomes by at least ₹58,000. “Since most Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries belong to farmer families, this reflects our government’s strong commitment to their welfare,” he said.
On the occasion, the CM also inaugurated the Krushak Bhawan and a new Reception Centre at Krushi Shiksha Sadan, built at a cost of nearly ₹59 crore. He announced that the farmer registration period under the scheme would soon be extended.
Highlighting key decisions taken by his government, Majhi recalled that the first Cabinet meeting after assuming office had approved the Samruddha Krushak Yojana, under which farmers received ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy procurement. He said a record 92.63 lakh MT of paddy was procured under the scheme. Over 18 lakh farmers have registered this year, and the CM assured that no eligible farmer would be left out.
The Chief Minister also emphasized support to landless farmers, who receive ₹12,500 in three installments for allied activities such as goat rearing, poultry, mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, and dairy farming. He underlined the government’s push for crop diversification, crop insurance under PMFBY, potato cultivation for self-reliance, expansion of cold storage facilities, promotion of agri-entrepreneurship, and scholarships under the Krushi Vidyadhan Yojana, which disbursed ₹53.69 crore to over 13,900 students last year.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik, Bhubaneswar (Ekamra) MLA Babu Singh, Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar Vashishth, OUAT Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pravat Kumar Roul, and several senior officials attended the event.
More than 600 farmers from across Odisha and 200 OUAT students participated, while the program was livestreamed across 30 districts with simultaneous district-level events in the presence of ministers, MPs, MLAs, collectors, and officials.
The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, DA&FE, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Shubham Saxena, Director of Agriculture and Food Production, Odisha.
