CM for repair of Srimandir by June 17

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Puri, May 19: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday directed the officials to complete all repair works of Puri Srimandir damaged due to cyclone Fani, by June 17.

The very severe cyclonic storm, that had its landfall off Puri coast on May 3, has caused massive damage to this district including the world-renowned temple of Lord Jagannath.

The Chief Minister, who visited Puri earlier in the day, reviewed the restoration work in the holy city.

He directed that the Jaya-Vijaya idols in Srimandir and damaged extensively be constructed again.

Patnaik told reporters after the review that he has issued directions for the repair of the lion idols and other damages by June 17.
