Class IX Student Found with Gun Inside Government School in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: In a disturbing incident raising serious concerns over campus safety, police on Saturday recovered a firearm from a Class IX student inside a government high school in the Kudanagari area of Kendrapara district.
According to sources, the weapon was detected by a Mathematics teacher during a classroom session after noticing a gun concealed at the student’s waist. The teacher immediately informed the school authorities, who alerted the Kudanagari police. A police team subsequently reached the school premises and seized the firearm.

Police have launched an investigation to determine how the minor came into possession of the gun. The seized weapon has been sent for forensic examination to ascertain whether it is functional and to trace its origin.
Following the incident, the student was shifted to a juvenile observation home in accordance with legal procedures. Investigators are questioning the minor to establish the source of the firearm and to find out whether any adult involvement is linked to the case.
Police officials said further action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation and the forensic report.
