CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Questions Polls, Says No Point Contesting Till CEC Gyanesh Kumar Resigns

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday questioned the credibility of upcoming elections, saying there would be “no point” in participating in polls as long as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar remains in office.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to Pune to support students protesting alleged Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination irregularities, Dipke alleged that the BJP was winning in states where it had failed to secure victories even during the peak of the “Modi wave.”

“I feel that until Gyanesh Kumar resigns and ensures free and fair elections, there is no point in participating in such polls, because the winner is already predetermined,” he said.

Dipke further claimed that the BJP’s electoral victories were linked to the functioning of the Election Commission and said the actual electoral picture would emerge only after Kumar’s exit and a freeze on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The remarks came days after a protest against CEC Gyanesh Kumar at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. Advocate Siddhi Deolekar had filed a complaint against Dipke and three others for allegedly proceeding with the protest despite denial of permission. Dipke later said on X that more cases would not stop the group from “fighting to save our democracy.”

The CJP founder’s comments also come amid a political row over reported objections raised by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi on matters concerning voter registration, electoral rolls and election technology. The Election Commission has rejected suggestions that the reported objections constituted institutional dissent over final decisions.
