Citizen safety a top priority in Durga puja: Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG

Durga Puja preparations in the Central Range are progressing at full throttle. Dr. Satyajit Naik, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for Central Range, Cuttack, convened a review meeting with Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to assess and streamline security measures for the upcoming festival in the seven districts, Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, and Khordha.

Dr. Naik underscored the importance of ensuring public safety during the festivities. The focus of the meeting was on strengthening security arrangements, which include the deployment of police personnel, the regulation of processions, and restrictions on police leave during the celebrations.

PURIDISTRICT:

In view of the Saradiya Durga Puja-2025, Puri district has made massive police arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the festival and the safety of general public. Further, Special arrangements have been made at Shree Jagannath Temple andSea Beach.

In Puri district , total=109 Puja Pendals are there and all are categorised as CATEGORY-B.
A control room is functioning at DIB Puri under the charge of Addl.S.P DIB, Puri.

For better supervision, still and video camera units have been deployed. The following deployment has been made for effective management of Law and Order situation:

Further, Special arrangements have been made at Maa Bhagabati Temple, Banapur. A Special arrangement has been made at Haveli Padia for Ravana Podi on 02.10.2025. In Khordha district, total= 74PujaPendalsaretherewhichhavebeen categorised as follows:

A control room is functioning at DIB, Khordha under the charge of Addl.S.P DIB, Khordha. For better supervision, still and video camera units have been deployed. The following deployment has been made for effective management of Law and Order situation:

A control room is functioning at DIB, Khordha under the charge of Addl.S.P DIB, Cuttack. Further, Special arrangements have been made at Bhtarika Peetha under Badamba PS, Charchika Peetha under Banki PS and Durga Puja at Sirlo under Kishannagar PS, sword procession under Govindapur PS. Special arrangements have been made for Ravana Podi at 09(nine) places under 06(six) PS jurisdictions.
