Chocolate Statue of President Droupadi Murmu to Be Unveiled in Bhubaneswar on Pakhala Divas

Bhubaneswar: A life-size chocolate statue of President Droupadi Murmu will be unveiled in the city on the occasion of Pakhala Divas, a celebration dedicated to Odisha’s traditional fermented rice dish and its cultural significance.

Weighing nearly 100 kg, the unique edible sculpture has been created by 15 artists from the Chocolate Club at Bomikhal. The team has been working continuously for the past three days to craft the statue, aiming to capture the dignity and inspiring journey of the President.

An artist involved in the project said they have almost reached the final stage and expect to complete the structure by Thursday evening. The team expressed excitement over sculpting the statue of Odisha’s pride, whose dedication continues to inspire many.

The final touches are currently underway, with the unveiling scheduled for Friday as part of the Pakhala Divas celebrations. The chocolate artwork not only showcases creative culinary skills but also pays tribute to President Murmu’s humble roots and her representation of tribal and Odia pride on the national stage.
