Central Range Police Collect ₹7.16 Lakh Fine in Single-Day Road Safety Drive

Cuttack: Under Operation Jeevan Rakshya, Central Range Police conducted a large-scale road safety enforcement drive across seven districts on January 22, 2026, checking 1,521 vehicles and collecting fines amounting to ₹7.16 lakh.
According to official data, the drive covered Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha and Nayagarh districts. Nayagarh recorded the highest number of vehicles checked at 405, followed by Puri with 385 vehicles. The highest fine amount of ₹2.79 lakh was collected from Puri district during the single-day operation.

Jajpur district recorded the checking of 27 transport heavy vehicles, while a total of 1,521 vehicles were inspected across the Central Range on the day.
Meanwhile, cumulative figures from January 7 to January 22, 2026, show that Central Range Police checked 21,521 vehicles and imposed fines totalling ₹96.08 lakh as part of the ongoing road safety campaign. During this period, 34 buses and 198 transport heavy vehicles were also inspected across the seven districts.
Officials said the sustained enforcement drive aims to improve road discipline, reduce accidents, and ensure compliance with traffic rules. Police have urged motorists to follow traffic regulations and cooperate with enforcement teams to help make roads safer for all.
