Central Range Checks 1,922 Vehicles, Collects ₹5 Lakh in Fines During Naka Drive

Bhubaneswar: The Central Range Police carried out an extensive naka and patrolling operation across several districts on 21 November 2025, during which a total of 1,922 vehicles were checked and fines amounting to ₹5,00,000 were collected. The drive was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen road safety enforcement and ensure greater compliance with traffic regulations.

According to official data, Puri district recorded the highest number of vehicle checks, with officers inspecting 495 vehicles and collecting ₹2,13,500 in fines. Jajpur and Nayagarh followed with 462 and 416 vehicles checked respectively, while Khordha district collected ₹86,500 in penalties from its enforcement activities.

The report also showed that 109 photos documenting field enforcement were shared by patrol teams, with Nayagarh alone contributing 96 images, reflecting active monitoring by local authorities. Other districts, including Cuttack, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur, also participated in the drive, contributing to the overall enforcement effort across the Central Range.

Officials stated that regular naka checks play a vital role in maintaining public safety and reducing traffic violations. The Central Range Police are expected to continue such operations in the coming weeks to further strengthen compliance and discipline on the roads.
