Capital Ring Road Planned to Ease Traffic
Bhubaneswar: A new ring road, aimed at reducing heavy traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, will soon be constructed, announced Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Hansapal flyover in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, Sarangi revealed details of the proposed 111-km-long Capital Region Ring Road. The project will connect Rameswar in Khordha district to Tangi in Cuttack district, passing through Khordha town, Bhubaneswar, Athagarh town, Cuttack city, and Choudwar town.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has estimated the project cost at Rs 6,500 crore.
During the event, Sarangi also inaugurated the 600-meter-long Hansapal flyover on National Highway-16. Completed at a cost of Rs 24 crore over five years, the flyover will facilitate smoother traffic flow for vehicles traveling between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
