Brett Lee and Debashish Mohanty selected as Brand Ambassadors of Odisha Pro T20 League 2025

Puri: Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee and Odisha’s former international cricketer Debashish Mohanty will serve as the Brand Ambassadors of the Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL) 2025, informed the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) on Sunday.

OCA took the decision to make Brett Lee and Debashish Mohanty as Brand Ambassadors of OPTL 2025 during its Special General Meeting (SGM) held today in Puri. The meeting was presided over by OCA president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty. Other office bearers Jagamohan Pattnaik (Vice President), Sanjay Behera (Secretary), Prabhat Bhol (Joint Secretary), Bikash Pradhan (Treasurer) and Pratap Chandra Pradhan (Apex Council Member, OCA) and members from all affiliated units of the association were also present in the meeting.

The special general meeting reportedly discussed four agendas. Discussions were held on the smooth conduct and successful organization of the Odisha Pro T20 League 2025, where six franchise teams namely Angul Fireballs, Cuttack Shields, Dhenkanal Dynamos, Puri Jaguars, Sambalpur Lions, and Sundargarh Royals will take part. Players’ Draft will take place in the near future, where franchises will select players for their respective teams and a grand opening ceremony will be organized to launch the tournament.

The meeting also discussed about the progress of the Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab Feeder Centre (U-14 Residential Cricket Academy for Boys & Girls) and the Sachin Tendulkar Sports Science Centre. It was further mentioned that the Centre of Excellence is tentatively scheduled to be inaugurated in January 2026.

This apart the OCA team also discussed preparations for the T20 International between India and South Africa, scheduled to be held on December 9, 2025 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. The meeting unanimously authorized the President, Secretary, and OCA office bearers to take necessary decisions in consultation with the Government of Odisha to ensure smooth conduct of the international match and to make all major arrangements.

The meeting also unanimously proposed and approved that the procedure of Elections of Odisha Cricket Association will be conducted after the completion of the international cricket match on December 9, 2025.
