Both Sri Lanka, South Africa aims to end the long tour with win

The dangling carrot in front of Sri Lanka and South Africa ahead of the one-off T20I – clearly bereft of any context – is a chance to sign off on a winning note. Riding high on the success in ODIs, South Africa will take on hosts Sri Lanka in the only T20I. Sri Lanka, who lost the ODI series 2-3, are back in their old form and can be dangerous in the even shorter format. In the last two ODIs, the hosts dominated the visitors. In the ODIs, we witnessed only few players standing up and performing. Once the hosts got momentum, South Africa struggled in the ODIs as well. With the World T20 more than two years away, there’s hardly anything to play for in the fixture that brings down the curtains on the tour.
