Bomb Threat Triggers Panic at Malkangiri Court, Probe Underway

Malkangiri: Panic gripped the Malkangiri District Court premises on Monday after a bomb threat was received via an anonymous email, prompting immediate evacuation and a large-scale security response.
According to official sources, court proceedings were underway when authorities received the threatening email claiming that a bomb had been planted inside the court complex. The message, allegedly sent in the name of a group calling itself the “Tamil Nadu Liberation Group,” warned of an imminent explosion.

Acting promptly, District Judge Shantanu Kumar Das ordered the evacuation of all staff, lawyers, and litigants from the premises. The entire court complex was swiftly cleared as a precautionary measure.
Police teams rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area, while a bomb disposal squad launched an extensive search operation across the premises. Each section of the court building is being thoroughly inspected to rule out the presence of any explosive device.
Officials stated that no suspicious object has been found so far. However, security in and around the area has been significantly tightened.
Police have initiated an investigation to verify the authenticity of the threat and trace the source of the email. While authorities suspect it may be a hoax aimed at creating panic, they are not taking any risks.
Meanwhile, the public has been urged to remain calm as security agencies continue their operations.
