Blood-Soaked Body of Youth Found Near Lakshmi Dunguri, Family Alleges Murder

Sambalpur: Panic spread across the outskirts of Sambalpur on Tuesday after the blood-soaked body of a young man was found near Lakshmi Dunguri hill under Khetrajpur police limits, close to Hirakud. The deceased has been identified as Abhaya Kumar Das of the Hirakud ITI locality.

According to his family, Abhaya had left for Sambalpur on Monday afternoon to visit his uncle, who had recently undergone surgery at a private hospital. While at the hospital, he reportedly received several phone calls. After answering the last call, he stepped out to meet the caller and never returned home.

On Tuesday afternoon, locals spotted his body near the foothills of Lakshmi Dunguri and immediately informed the police. A team from Khetrajpur police station reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem.

Family members have alleged that Abhaya was murdered. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation to determine the cause of death and identify the persons involved.
