BJD Slams Odisha Governor-Designate Over Reported BJP Remark

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday criticised Odisha Governor-designate Braj Mohan Ram over his reported remarks about strengthening the BJP, saying the Governor’s office must remain above party politics.
The regional party shared a video circulated by a news agency in which Ram was purportedly heard speaking about working to strengthen the BJP after assuming office.
“We condemn the remark as it negates the fact that the Governor is above party politics,” the BJD said in a statement.
BJD media coordinator Lenin Mohanty also criticised the reported comments, describing them as unbecoming of a Governor.
Ram, a three-time former BJP MP, was appointed Odisha Governor on Monday.
