BJD MP slaps Party worker on stage

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): BJD’s Berhampur MP Chandrasekhar Sahu landed in a controversy after he lost his cool and slapped a party worker on stage during a party meeting held at Paralakhemundi of Gajapati district on Tuesday. The video of the incident went viral on social media in no time has triggered strong criticism from several quarters.

Sahu had gone to attend BJD’s Extended Executive Meeting in Paralakhemundi and was felicitated on stage by several party workers when he suddenly lost his temper and gave a tight slap to former Gajapati District Youth Congress president Sangram Sahu who recently joined BJD, the sources said.

It is still unclear as to why Sahu slapped the young party worker, he could not be available for comment in connection with the incident.

In his reaction Sangram said that the MP is like a big brother to him and has not slapped him but signalled to leave the spot.
