BJD Chief Whip Issues Show-Cause Notice to Two MLAs for Skipping Key Meetings

Pramila Mallik, Chief Whip (Opposition) of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, has issued a show-cause notice to two Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLAs for their repeated absence from key meetings convened by the party president at Naveen Niwas.
Chakramani Kanhar, MLA of 82-Baliguda(ST) Assembly Constituency, and Naba Kishor Mallick, MLA of 111-Jayadev(SC) Assembly Constituency, have reportedly missed three consecutive meetings despite a whip mandating their presence.
In the notice, the Chief Whip has directed both MLAs to report to Naveen Niwas by 9:00 PM on March 15, 2026. Their absence from these meetings has raised concerns within the party, prompting this strict action.
This development highlights the importance of party discipline and adherence to directives in Odisha’s political landscape.
